Anthropic Preps Opus 4.7 and Full-Stack AI Studio—While Sitting on Something Much Scarier
Anthropic is preparing Claude Opus 4.7 and an AI design tool for websites and presentations, according to The Information. The products could drop as soon as this week, and the design tool targets both developers and non-technical users.
However, Opus 4.7 is not Anthropic's most powerful model. That title belongs to Claude Mythos, a cybersecurity-focused "frontier model" that can autonomously execute sophisticated cyber attacks. The UK's AI Security Institute recently evaluated Mythos Preview and found it matches no other model in its capabilities.
Anthropic's focus has been shifting toward enterprise and development use cases, as evidenced by the leak of Claude code, the release of the skills system, and the MCP protocol. Despite these advancements, the industry continues to struggle with measuring AI improvements effectively, with leading benchmarks like ARC-AGI-3 showing significant gaps between AI performance and human ability. Anthropic builds its frontier models by fine-tuning a base "God model," meaning Opus and Mythos are closely related.
Anthropic did not respond to Decrypt's request for comment regarding these developments.
